MIMI BOSTON
GLASS ARTIST
Mimi Boston makes fused glass bowls, platters and decorative art objects as well as glass necklaces and most recently mixed media pieces of glass over original prints.  She is both a fused glass artist and a printmaker.
Mimi Boston and Robin Jackson work together using the name Great-Glass and their website is Great-Glass.com.
Mimi loves color and the translucence of glass attracted her to that medium. She has taken glass classes at the Appalachian Center for Craft and at the Bullseye Factory. Mimi majored in art history and enjoyed a financial career before returning to her love of art. She has been a glass artist for more than ten years.
Much of her inspiration comes from the play of light on water or light on leaves. Dappled light, the contrast of shade and light, is a frequent image in her mind as she creates.

Her work is available at Naked Art Gallery and at the gift stores in the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, and the JC Smith Museum of Fine Art in Auburn.
