In April ADC member Sam Cornman was commissioned to create one of his flame worked glass "cage" sculptures for the Balch and Bingham Law Firm in association with the Dungan and Nequette Architects. This sculpture is located in the Harbert building of downtown Birmingham, in the lobby of the 15th floor, which contains Balch and Bingham's primary meeting rooms. The sculpture is entitled "Budding Blossom," and it stands 42 inches tall by 22 inches in diameter on a steel stand.
Sam comments on the piece, "I hope that this creation will enrich the daily life of those that work with and visit the firm, while the beauty and elegance of this glass sculpture will add a calming element in the work environment. As the piece is like a budding blossom about to bloom, I hope that it can inspire people to grow, to blossom into their full potential." PEPPER PLACE UPDATE! The Pepper Place Market is open 7AM - 12PM. There are still many open slots for any members who have
not yet showed their work this summer at the Market (or for those who would like
